Expert Plumbing Fixture Installation Services in Lexington and Louisville
Our licensed plumbers have the training and experience to install fixtures all over the house. We’ll ensure the water lines and drains work correctly and that fixtures, vanities, and sinks are all properly caulked and waterproof.
Here are some of the common plumbing fixtures we install:
Bathroom and Kitchen Fixtures & Vanities
We install all bathroom and kitchen fixtures. We do sinks, vanities, toilets, showers, tubs, floor drains, and more for bathrooms. We test everything and ensure that it will hold up to prolonged use and look good.
For kitchens, we install sinks, faucets, garbage disposals, water filtration systems, and more. We keep our trucks loaded and ready to go, so if you ask for a repair that ends up requiring a replacement, we’re ready with a quick swap out.
Garage, Basement, & Hobby Space Sinks
Have you ever thought to yourself, “It sure would be nice to have a sink here”? We can make that happen! We can install sinks and drains in garages, basements, sheds, and other hobby spaces.
A well-placed sink can make cleaning up after a DIY, hobby, or mechanical project much easier. We may have to get creative on how the lines and drains run depending on how your plumbing is set up and how far the space is from your house, but we can figure it out.
Outdoor Spigots
Do you only have one outdoor water spigot? Watering your lawn or washing your car can be pretty frustrating when your outdoor spigot is on the other side of the house. You have to hook several hoses together or buy a mega hose, and then the water pressure isn’t quite as much as you’d hoped.
Dauenhauer can expertly install a new water spigot on any side of your house to make it easier. We can also repair and test your current spigots if something seems wrong or the water pressure is disappointing.

Plumbing Fixture Installation FAQs
How long does it take a plumber to install a bathroom faucet?
30–60 minutes for a straightforward same-hole-pattern swap, assuming the existing shut-off valves work. It stretches to 2–3 hours if the shut-offs are seized, the supply lines are corroded, or the existing faucet is a widespread/8-inch configuration being replaced with a different hole pattern (may need a new countertop cut-out or an escutcheon plate). DIY usually takes 1–3 hours the first time — access under the sink is tight and the basin wrench is the tool that makes or breaks the job.
Should I buy a WaterSense-labeled fixture? Is it worth it?
Yes — WaterSense is the EPA’s voluntary label program, and certified products use at least 20% less water than the federal baseline while passing EPA performance tests. Key specs: WaterSense bathroom faucets flow at no more than 1.5 gpm at 60 psi (vs. 2.2 gpm federal max) — roughly 30% less water; WaterSense toilets flush with 1.28 gpf or less (vs. the 1.6 gpf federal max). A family of four that replaces old fixtures with WaterSense ones typically saves 13,000+ gallons per year, plus the water-heating energy you would have used on hot-water side. Many utilities offer $50–$150 rebates for WaterSense toilets — check your local water authority.
Do I need to shut off water to the whole house to replace a faucet?
Almost never. Every modern fixture has dedicated angle stops (small shut-off valves under the sink, behind the toilet, etc.) — turn those off and you can work on the fixture while the rest of the house has water. The one exception is if those valves are the old multi-turn gate style and have seized (very common in homes 20+ years old). Our rule: if the angle stop doesn’t fully close or leaks when you turn it, we replace it with a modern 1/4-turn ball-type angle stop at the same time we do the fixture — otherwise we’re back in a year for a mystery drip.
Can a handyman replace a faucet?
For a straight like-for-like swap with no drain or supply piping changes, yes — most states allow handymen/handywomen to do a faucet replacement because it doesn’t touch the permanent plumbing. Any time the job alters the drain, supply piping inside the wall, or adds a fixture, most states require a licensed plumber. The risk of hiring a handyman for a faucet: no warranty beyond the faucet manufacturer’s (a plumber’s labor warranty covers leaks they cause), and no recourse if they damage your shut-offs or countertop.
