Sewer Cleaning Services in Lexington & Louisville

Nothing brings your home plumbing to a crashing halt like a clogged sewer drain. Sewer drain clogs basically shut down your ability to use any drains in your home, creating a large inconvenience for you and your family.

If your sewer isn’t draining properly, you don’t want to have to wait for a plumber to find time to fix it; you want it fixed immediately. Call Dauenhauer for fast sewer drain cleaning services in Lexington and Louisville.

Signs of Sewer Drainage Problems

Watch for these signs of sewer drain problems:

  • Foul odors
  • Water stains
  • Standing water in tubs and showers
  • Slow drainage throughout the home
  • Wet areas on your property
  • Backup or overflow in fixtures

If you notice any of these problems, call a professional plumber immediately to resolve them before things get messy.

What Causes a Sewer Backup?

Sewer backups can be caused by a variety of factors. Sometimes, grease, soap, hair, and other objects clump together and harden in your sewer line, causing a clog that slowly builds and gets bigger. Plenty of things shouldn’t be flushed down the drain that can cause clogs, like “flushable” wipes, women’s hygiene products, condoms, food grease and fat, cat litter, and other items.

Tree roots are also a major cause of sewer backups. Sewer lines with small holes or leaks are very inviting for trees, as the lines provide a nutrient water source for their roots.

Dauenhauer’s Expert Main Line Sewer Cleaning

Dauenhauer can clean out main line sewer pipes in Louisville and Lexington. Our technicians have advanced video cameras which can be used to inspect pipes. These inspections are usually diagnosed on the spot but are also recorded for record keeping and future reference.

A video pipe inspection can be used to determine whether your sewer line blockage can be resolved with non-invasive methods like snaking or water-jetting.

Sewer Line Snaking

Plumbing snakes are used to push through clogs and then are spun to try and clear out as much of the clog as possible. These flexible metal lines are pushed through the pipes and attached to a rotary device, which then spins the metal lines rapidly to push the line around the pipe in all directions.

Sewer Line Hydro Jet Cleaning

Our plumbers have access to advanced pipe-cleaning equipment through a process called hydro jetting. We hook up large water pressure devices that powerfully push water down pipes. This pressurized water blasts through clogs and blockages, thoroughly cleaning the pipes.

Hydro jetting is typically a little more expensive than standard snaking, but it cleans the pipes much more thoroughly, resulting in longer-lasting clear pipes.

Sewer Section Replacement

While the vast majority of clogs can be dealt with by snaking or hydro jetting, there are occasionally stubborn blockages. In the event of a large blockage, it is possible that a portion of your sewer line will need to be excavated and replaced.

If there is a major tree root invasion, or your sewer line is too deteriorated to be useful, you may require a sewer replacement instead.

Louisville’s MSD Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Program

MSD’s Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Program allows homeowners to finance at no interest the replacement of their old, fragile sewer lines with modern, durable PVC sewer lines. These older sewer lines are often constructed of clay and prone to root invasion, leading to sewer drainage issues. Dauenhauer Plumbing Heating & Air is an approved contractor for the MSD Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement Program.
